Bio:
Kelly was born in Melbourne and studied Graphic Arts in the 80s, when light boxes and squeaker textas ruled! She moved to Sydney in the 90s and embraced the culinary delights of two minute noodles, and pulled 10,345 beers, whilst attaining a Fine Arts Degree at the National Art School in Darlinghurst.
Her work is largely based on circumstances that surrounded her when she was young, as she was born to a family of great iconic imagery and pop culture of the 20th Century.
Her parents met at an Elvis look-a-like competition when they were 16, and her older sisters - one being a suburban Sharpie, and the other a Big M model, were two glaring examples, albeit opposite poles, of dynamic 70's icons. Hence, Kelly's work is fundamentally grounded in graphic pop culture, that she was, and still is encircled by.
Kellys work has been collected nationally and internationally and she has curated and exhibited in many notable exhibitions.
She now resides in the Dandenong Ranges VIC. If you'd like to visit her in the studio, hit the Contact Tab and send a message.
